High Temperature
CoatingEXTREME HEAT · INORGANIC · REFRACTORY-TIER

A top-tier coating for the most extreme heat — exhaust manifolds, furnace shells, kiln exteriors and flare stacks that run far beyond ordinary hot-service ranges. Built on inorganic, ceramic-filled and inert multipolymeric chemistries, it holds onto steel and resists oxidation where even silicone heat coatings reach their limit.

OVERVIEW

What is High Temperature Coating?

High temperature coating is the highest tier of heat protection — engineered for surfaces that operate far beyond the range of ordinary hot-service paints and even standard silicone heat coatings. At the most extreme temperatures, organic resins simply burn off, so these systems use inorganic, ceramic-filled and inert multipolymeric chemistries that stay bonded to the steel and resist oxidation at very high, often red-heat, temperatures. They protect the hottest plant assets — exhaust manifolds, furnace and boiler shells, kiln exteriors and flare stacks — and are delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System specified to the exact operating temperature.

THE POLYZEN SYSTEM

How the System Is Built

An extreme-heat system is built thin, inert and tightly bonded over clean steel — prepared, primed inorganically, sealed with a ceramic-filled topcoat and set by heat. Tap any layer to see its role.

Heat-Set in Service

Final Cure by Operation

High-temperature systems develop their full hardness and bond as the asset reaches operating temperature, heat-setting in service to their final inert, oxidation-resistant state. First heat-up is staged per the system. System values: Per TDS.

POLYZEN APPLIED SYSTEM

Delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System

This protection is delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System — surveyed, specified and applied turnkey by trained applicators using inorganic and ceramic-filled high-temperature coatings. The system and rating are selected per the asset's peak operating temperature and exposure.

04
WHY IT WORKS

Engineered for the Limit

At the top of the heat scale, ordinary chemistry stops working — organic resins oxidise and burn away, leaving steel exposed to scaling. High temperature coatings answer this with inorganic and ceramic-filled systems that stay inert and bonded at red-heat, holding their film and protecting the metal where nothing softer survives. The system is specified to the asset's peak operating temperature, not an average. Performance is confirmed on the product TDS.

The coating system and temperature rating are specified to the asset's peak operating temperature and thermal cycling. For moderate hot-service surfaces a standard heat resistant coating is specified instead. POLYZEN confirms finished values and the rated service temperature on the product TDS and does not publish fabricated figures.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is high temperature coating?
It is the highest tier of heat-protective coating, engineered for surfaces that run far beyond ordinary hot-service ranges. At extreme temperatures organic resins burn off, so these systems use inorganic, ceramic-filled and inert multipolymeric chemistries that stay bonded to steel and resist oxidation at very high, often red-heat, temperatures — protecting the hottest plant assets like furnace shells, manifolds, kilns and flare stacks.
How is it different from heat resistant coating?
They sit on the same scale at different levels. Heat resistant coatings — usually silicone-based — handle moderate-to-high hot-service surfaces such as exhausts and stacks. High temperature coatings step above that, using inorganic and ceramic chemistries for the most extreme, refractory-level temperatures where silicone reaches its limit. POLYZEN selects the right tier based on the asset's peak operating temperature.
What temperature can it withstand?
The rated service temperature depends on the specific inorganic or ceramic system, each rated to a different extreme range. POLYZEN confirms the asset's peak operating temperature during survey and specifies a system rated for it, with the rated temperature stated on the product TDS rather than as a fixed published figure.
Does it need to be cured by heat?
Often yes. Many high-temperature systems develop their final hardness and bond as the asset is brought up to operating temperature, heat-setting in service. POLYZEN stages the first heat-up per the system so the coating sets correctly into its final inert, oxidation-resistant state.
Is high temperature coating a POLYZEN Applied System?
Yes. It is delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System — surveyed, specified and applied turnkey by trained applicators, with the coating system and temperature rating selected per the asset's peak operating temperature and exposure.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every project is handed over after a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per peak operating temperature, exposure and project scope.
