What Decides How Much Material You Need?
Floor coating coverage is never a single fixed number. Four project realities decide the true material quantity — which is why POLYZEN builds a verified schedule for every site instead of a generic estimate.
01. Substrate Profile
A mechanically prepared, ground or shot-blasted concrete surface absorbs and consumes material differently from a smooth slab. Surface porosity directly changes consumption.
02. System Thickness
A thin high-build coating and a multi-millimetre self-leveling or screed system carry very different material loads per square metre across the same floor area.
03. System Build-Up
Primer, body coat, broadcast aggregate and seal coat each add to the schedule. The full layer stack — not one product — defines total quantity.
04. Wastage & Detailing
Coving, edges, joints, ramps and site wastage are factored into a real material schedule so the floor is never under-ordered mid-application.
