OVERVIEW

Flooring for Schools, Colleges & Universities

Campus floors take relentless punishment — thousands of students moving through corridors and classrooms every day — while specialist spaces have very different needs. Science labs face chemical spills, computer labs need static control for equipment, and wet areas demand slip safety. POLYZEN engineers durable, low-maintenance, safe systems for every space, from busy general areas to critical labs.

STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE

Engineered to Support Campus Standards

POLYZEN systems are specified to support the building, safety and lab frameworks education facilities are assessed against.

TIER 1 · BUILDING

National Building Code (NBC)

Supports institutional building safety with durable, demarcated floor surfaces.

TIER 1 · SAFETY

Fire & Safe Egress

Supports low-shedding surfaces and clear egress paths for high-occupancy buildings.

TIER 2 · LAB

Chemical Resistance

Supports science-lab safety with spill-resistant, cleanable surfaces.

TIER 2 · ESD

IEC 61340-5-1

Supports static-control requirements in computer and electronics labs.

TIER 3 · ENVIRONMENT

Low-VOC / Indoor Air

Supports healthy indoor environments for students and staff.

Material performance values are stated Per TDS. POLYZEN supplies and applies flooring systems engineered to support campus safety, lab and environmental frameworks; certification of the facility remains with the institution.

FAQ

Education Flooring — FAQ

What is the best flooring for schools and colleges?
Seamless self-leveling epoxy (ZENFLOR Pro) is ideal for corridors and classrooms — hard-wearing, low-maintenance and easy to clean. Specialist spaces use different systems: chemical-resistant epoxy for science labs, ESD flooring for computer labs and slip-safe finishes for wet areas.
What flooring is required for science laboratories?
Science labs use chemical-resistant epoxy (ZENFLOR Sovereign) that withstands acid, solvent and reagent spills while staying seamless and easy to decontaminate. The chemical-resistance profile is stated Per TDS.
Is ESD flooring needed for computer labs?
For labs with sensitive electronics, static-dissipative ESD flooring (ZENSTAT Dissipative) helps protect equipment by controlling static discharge. It is engineered to support IEC 61340-5-1 static-control requirements.
Is the flooring slip-resistant and safe for students?
Yes. Engineered anti-skid finishes provide slip safety in corridors, entrances, wet areas and ramps. The slip rating is stated Per TDS.
Is the flooring low-maintenance for high-traffic corridors?
Yes. The recommended systems are seamless and jointless, resisting wear from heavy student traffic and simplifying cleaning across large campuses.
Can flooring be installed without disrupting classes?
Yes. Work can be phased and scheduled around vacations or off-hours, with rapid-cure options to return spaces to use quickly between terms.
