OVERVIEW

Flooring for IT Parks & Data Centres

Server halls, UPS rooms and network spaces hold equipment where a single static discharge can corrupt data or destroy hardware. The defining requirement here is controlled electrostatic discharge — measured, grounded and stable over years. POLYZEN engineers static-dissipative and conductive ESD floors with integrated earthing for critical zones, and seamless epoxy for the offices and circulation that surround them.

INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS

What a Data Centre Floor Must Deliver

Every requirement below maps to equipment protection or facility uptime — not a cosmetic one.

01

Static Dissipation

Controlled resistance to bleed away charge and protect sensitive electronics.

02

Earthing & Grounding

Integrated copper-grid network bonded to the building earth for reliable discharge.

03

Low Particle Shedding

Non-dusting, non-flaking surfaces that keep equipment air clean.

04

Surface Cleanability

Seamless, jointless finishes for dust-free halls and easy maintenance.

05

Durability Under Load

Withstands server racks, CRAC units and heavy equipment trolleys.

06

Resistance Stability

Consistent electrical performance across temperature, humidity and time.

07

Seamless Finish

Jointless surfaces that resist contamination and simplify cleaning.

08

Phased Installation

Sequenced application to suit live, occupied and uptime-critical facilities.

03
STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE

Engineered to Support ESD & Facility Standards

POLYZEN ESD systems are specified to support the electrostatic and facility frameworks data centres are audited against.

TIER 1 · ESD

IEC 61340-5-1

Supports ESD-protected-area (EPA) requirements in server and equipment halls.

TIER 1 · ESD

ANSI/ESD S20.20

Supports static-control program management for electronics-handling spaces.

TIER 2 · DATA CENTRE

TIA-942

Supports data-centre facility infrastructure with durable, low-maintenance surfaces.

TIER 2 · CLEANLINESS

ISO 14644

Supports controlled-particle environments where clean-zone conditions are required.

TIER 3 · SAFETY

Fire & Safe Egress

Supports low-shedding, demarcated walkway and egress surfaces.

Electrical performance values (Rg, Rp and related ESD resistances) are stated Per TDS. POLYZEN supplies and applies ESD flooring engineered to support facility static-control programs; certification and qualification of the EPA remain with the operator.

CRITICAL ZONES MAP

The Right System for Each Zone

An IT park is not one floor — critical halls demand ESD control, while offices need durable epoxy. POLYZEN specifies zone-by-zone.

FAQ

IT Park & Data Centre Flooring — FAQ

What is the best flooring for a data centre server hall?
Static-dissipative ESD flooring (ZENSTAT Dissipative) is the standard choice for server halls and white space, providing controlled resistance and low particle shedding. Conductive flooring (ZENSTAT Conductive) is used where stricter grounding is required, such as UPS and switchgear rooms.
What is the difference between static-dissipative and conductive ESD flooring?
Dissipative flooring bleeds charge away in a controlled, slower manner and suits most server and equipment halls. Conductive flooring offers a lower-resistance path to earth for the strictest grounding zones. POLYZEN specifies the right one per zone; exact resistance ranges are stated Per TDS.
Does POLYZEN ESD flooring support IEC 61340-5-1 and ANSI/ESD S20.20?
Yes. ZENSTAT systems are engineered to support ESD-protected-area requirements under IEC 61340-5-1 and static-control programs under ANSI/ESD S20.20. Qualification of the EPA itself remains with the operator.
How is ESD flooring earthed and grounded?
An integrated copper-grid earthing network is laid into the system over a conductive primer base (ZENSTAT Prime) and bonded to the building earth, giving the floor a reliable, low-resistance discharge path.
Is ESD flooring required throughout an IT park?
No. ESD flooring is specified only in static-sensitive zones such as server halls, equipment rooms and UPS areas. Offices, circulation and common areas use durable seamless epoxy (ZENFLOR Pro) instead.
Can ESD flooring be installed in a live or occupied facility?
Yes. Installation can be sequenced and phased zone-by-zone to suit uptime-critical and occupied facilities, with surface preparation and curing windows planned around operations.
