OVERVIEW

What is Heavy Duty Epoxy Flooring?

Heavy duty epoxy flooring is a high-build, multi-coat epoxy system engineered for the most demanding industrial conditions — severe abrasion, continuous foot and vehicle traffic, and aggressive chemical exposure. Built up in reinforced layers over a primed substrate, it forms a dense, seamless, long-life floor that protects the concrete beneath and stands up to relentless daily use.

Heavy-Duty Epoxy Topcoat

Abrasion & Chemical Finish

A tough epoxy topcoat seals the system into a dense, chemical- and abrasion-resistant surface built to take continuous traffic and aggressive cleaning. Gloss level and slip rating are specified to the environment. System values: Per TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is heavy duty epoxy flooring?
It is a high-build, multi-coat epoxy system engineered for severe abrasion, continuous traffic and chemical exposure. Built up in reinforced layers over a primed substrate, it forms a dense, seamless, long-life industrial floor.
How is it different from epoxy mortar flooring?
Epoxy mortar is a thick, trowel-applied aggregate screed built for the heaviest impact and point loading. Heavy duty epoxy is a high-build coating system focused on severe abrasion, traffic and chemical resistance. The right choice depends on whether impact or abrasion is the main demand.
Is heavy duty epoxy flooring chemical resistant?
Yes. The system is built to resist aggressive chemicals and harsh cleaning regimes. The specific chemical resistance for ZENFLOR Sovereign (ZF-500) is confirmed in the product TDS.
What surface does it need?
A sound concrete substrate, mechanically prepared by diamond grinding or shot-blasting, with verified moisture and strength. POLYZEN surveys and prepares the substrate as part of the turnkey installation.
Where is heavy duty epoxy flooring used?
It suits heavy manufacturing, warehousing, automotive, chemical processing, engineering workshops and commercial kitchens — anywhere subject to severe abrasion, heavy traffic or chemical exposure.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
