OVERVIEW

What is Metallic Epoxy Flooring?

Metallic epoxy flooring is a seamless decorative floor in which metallic pigments are dispersed into clear epoxy resin and manipulated as the coating cures — creating flowing swirls, depth and a three-dimensional, liquid-metal appearance. No two floors are ever identical. Beneath the striking finish it is a fully bonded, hard-wearing epoxy system: seamless, hygienic, and protected by a clear topcoat for abrasion and chemical resistance.

THE POLYZEN SYSTEM

How the System Is Built

A metallic epoxy floor is a layered decorative system — the look lives in the upper coats, the strength in the lower ones. Tap any layer to see its role.

Clear Protective Topcoat

UV-Stable Seal

A clear, UV-stable protective topcoat seals the decorative finish — adding abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and the final high-gloss (or satin) sheen. This is the wear surface that keeps the metallic look intact for years. System values: Per TDS.

FINISH & PERFORMANCE

Designed to Be Seen — Built to Last

A metallic epoxy floor is specified for visual impact first, then engineered to survive real use. POLYZEN tests against recognised methods; product-specific results are confirmed in the TDS.

POLYZEN Values
Per TDS

Because each floor is hand-poured, colour movement and pattern are unique and cannot be exactly reproduced — that is the nature of the finish. Tested performance values are confirmed in the product TDS; POLYZEN does not publish fabricated specification figures.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is metallic epoxy flooring?
It is a seamless decorative floor where metallic pigments are mixed into clear epoxy and worked by hand to create flowing swirls, veins and a three-dimensional, liquid-metal look. A clear protective topcoat then seals it into a hard-wearing, cleanable surface.
Is metallic epoxy flooring durable enough for commercial use?
Yes. Although it is chosen for its appearance, the system is a fully bonded epoxy floor protected by a clear abrasion- and chemical-resistant topcoat — suitable for showrooms, hotels, retail and other commercial traffic when specified correctly.
Can the colours be customised, and is every floor unique?
Yes. Colour blends are selected to your space, and because the metallic layer is hand-poured and activated, every floor develops its own pattern and movement. No two installations are ever identical — a reference sample is prepared and signed off before application.
Which POLYZEN product is used?
Metallic epoxy floors are delivered using ZENDÉCOR Aura (ZD-M), POLYZEN's metallic decorative epoxy system. The exact build-up and topcoat are confirmed during survey based on the area and traffic.
Is a metallic epoxy floor slippery?
A high-gloss finish is smooth by design. Where slip resistance is needed, an anti-skid additive can be specified into the clear topcoat without losing the metallic appearance. POLYZEN advises the right finish for the location.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
