OVERVIEW

What is Food Grade Epoxy Flooring?

Food grade epoxy flooring is a seamless, hygienic resin system designed for food and beverage processing, preparation and storage areas. It combines a smooth, non-absorbent surface with integral coved skirting to eliminate the cracks and joints where bacteria collect — creating a crevice-free floor that withstands constant wash-down, cleaning chemicals and hygiene audits.

Hygienic / Antimicrobial-Grade Seal

Easy-Clean Finish + Coving

A hygienic seal closes the floor into a smooth, non-absorbent, easy-clean surface, carried up the wall as integral coving to remove crevices at floor-wall junctions. Gloss and slip rating are specified to the wash-down regime. System values: Per TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is food grade epoxy flooring?
It is a seamless, hygienic resin floor for food and beverage areas. It combines a smooth, non-absorbent surface with integral coved skirting to remove the cracks and joints where bacteria collect, giving a crevice-free floor that withstands constant wash-down.
Why is coving important in a food grade floor?
Integral coving carries the floor finish up the wall in a smooth curve, removing the 90-degree crevice at the floor-wall junction where dirt and bacteria gather. It is a key part of a hygienic, easy-to-clean food environment.
Does food grade epoxy flooring meet HACCP?
The floor is designed to support HACCP-led hygiene and wash-down regimes through its seamless, non-absorbent, coved detailing. It supports a facility's food-safety practice but does not itself replace the facility's own certification.
What surface does it need?
A sound concrete substrate, mechanically prepared by diamond grinding or shot-blasting, with verified moisture and strength. POLYZEN surveys and prepares the substrate as part of the turnkey installation.
Where is food grade epoxy flooring used?
It suits food and beverage processing, commercial kitchens, dairy and cold storage, breweries, pharmaceutical and life sciences, bakeries and meat processing — anywhere hygiene and wash-down matter.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
