OVERVIEW

What is Epoxy Coving?

Epoxy coving is a seamless skirting detail that carries the floor finish up the wall in a smooth, radiused curve. By replacing the sharp 90-degree floor-wall junction with a continuous cove, it removes the crevice where dirt, water and bacteria collect — making the floor-wall edge fully cleanable. It is an essential hygiene detail for food, pharmaceutical and wash-down environments.

How the Cove Is Built

An epoxy cove is built up in stages at the floor-wall junction — every layer has a job. Tap any layer to see its role.

Seal & Finish Coat

Matched to Floor

The cove is sealed and finished to match the main floor system — same colour, gloss and hygiene grade — so the junction reads as one continuous, wipe-clean surface. System values: Per TDS.

HYGIENE REFERENCE

Why Coving Matters

Coving is a recognised hygiene detail in food and pharmaceutical design — a curved junction is far easier to clean and sanitise than a square corner. POLYZEN builds the cove to suit the floor system and hygiene regime.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is epoxy coving?
It is a seamless skirting detail that curves the floor finish up the wall in a smooth radius, replacing the sharp 90-degree floor-wall corner. This removes the crevice where dirt and bacteria collect and makes the junction fully cleanable.
Why is coving needed?
A square floor-wall corner traps dirt, water and bacteria and is hard to clean. A curved cove makes the junction continuous and wipe-clean, which is essential in food, pharmaceutical and wash-down areas.
Is coving part of the floor or separate?
It is built as an integral part of the floor system, using matching materials and finish so the floor and cove read as one continuous, seamless surface.
What radius is the cove?
The cove radius is specified to the hygiene requirement of the area — a larger radius is easier to clean. POLYZEN sets the radius and cove height to suit the floor system and regime.
Where is epoxy coving used?
It suits food and beverage, pharmaceutical and life sciences, commercial kitchens, hospitals, cleanrooms and labs, and dairy and cold storage — anywhere a hygienic, cleanable floor-wall junction is required.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Coving is warranted as part of the floor system, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
