OVERVIEW

What is Food-Grade PU Flooring?

Food-grade PU flooring is a seamless, taint-free polyurethane floor engineered for areas where food and beverages are prepared, processed or stored. Its polyurethane chemistry resists hot steam wash-downs, thermal shock and food acids, while integral coving and drainage falls eliminate dirt traps — together supporting the hygiene standards required under FSSAI and HACCP food-safety regimes.

THE POLYZEN SYSTEM

How the System Is Built

A food-grade PU floor is an engineered, hygienic stack — every layer has a job. Tap any layer to see its role.

Hygienic Seal & Coving

Antimicrobial Option

An optional hygienic seal — with an antimicrobial additive where specified — finishes the floor, while integral coving at wall and equipment junctions removes crevices and dirt traps. The result is a cleanable, food-safe surface. System values: Per TDS.

SYSTEM PRODUCTS

POLYZEN ZENPU Level / Cretescreed

This floor is delivered using POLYZEN ZENPU Level (ZP-200) for moderate-duty areas, or POLYZEN ZENPU Cretescreed (ZP-300) for heavy wash-down and thermal-shock zones — both formulated and manufactured by POLYZEN.

PERFORMANCE REFERENCE

Engineered for Food Safety

A food-grade PU floor is specified to the hygiene, thermal and wash-down demands of a food environment. POLYZEN tests against recognised methods; product-specific results are confirmed in the TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is food-grade PU flooring?
It is a seamless, taint-free polyurethane floor for areas where food and beverages are handled. Its polyurethane chemistry resists hot steam wash-downs, thermal shock and food acids, while coving and drainage support the hygiene standards required under FSSAI and HACCP.
Is PU or epoxy better for food-grade floors?
Both can be food-safe, but PU is preferred where there is hot water, steam cleaning and temperature cycling — typical of wet food and beverage processing. Epoxy suits drier, more stable food areas. POLYZEN specifies the right system to your environment.
Does food-grade PU flooring support FSSAI and HACCP?
Yes. The seamless, taint-free, coved finish is designed to support the hygiene requirements of FSSAI and HACCP regimes. Facility certification itself rests with the operator; the floor provides a cleanable, food-safe surface that supports it.
Which POLYZEN product is used?
Moderate-duty areas use poured ZENPU Level (ZP-200); heavy wash-down and thermal-shock zones use trowel-applied ZENPU Cretescreed (ZP-300). The choice is confirmed during survey based on duty and conditions.
Is an antimicrobial finish available?
Yes. An antimicrobial additive can be specified into the hygienic seal where required. Details and values are confirmed in the product TDS.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
