OVERVIEW

What is Epoxy Terrazzo Flooring?

Epoxy terrazzo flooring is a poured-in-place decorative system in which marble chips, granite, glass or other decorative aggregates are set into a pigmented epoxy matrix, then mechanically ground and polished to a flat, seamless, mirror-smooth finish. It recreates the timeless terrazzo look — favoured in landmark and institutional buildings — as a thin, jointless, non-porous surface that is far lighter and faster to install than traditional cement terrazzo, and renewable by re-polishing over a long service life.

THE POLYZEN SYSTEM

How the System Is Built

An epoxy terrazzo floor is poured as a matrix, then ground back to expose the aggregate and polished. Tap any layer to see its role.

Grind, Polish & Seal

Mirror Finish

Once cured, the matrix is mechanically ground to expose the aggregate, then progressively polished to the chosen sheen and sealed. This is the step that turns a poured slab into a true terrazzo surface. System values: Per TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is epoxy terrazzo flooring?
It is a poured decorative floor where marble, granite or glass aggregates are set in a pigmented epoxy matrix, then ground and polished to a seamless, mirror-smooth surface. It delivers the classic terrazzo look as a thin, jointless, non-porous system.
How is epoxy terrazzo different from traditional terrazzo?
Traditional terrazzo uses a thick cement matrix that is heavy and slow to install. Epoxy terrazzo uses a resin matrix — much thinner and lighter, faster to install, seamless and non-porous, with a wider colour range and brighter aggregate definition.
Can the aggregate and colours be customised?
Yes. Aggregate type (marble, granite, glass, mother-of-pearl), matrix colour and polish level are all selected to your design. A reference sample is prepared and signed off before pouring, so the finished floor matches the intent.
Is epoxy terrazzo durable and easy to maintain?
Yes. It is seamless and non-porous, so it resists stains and is easy to clean, and it carries heavy foot traffic well. Over a long service life the surface can be re-polished to restore its original finish rather than replaced.
Is this a POLYZEN product?
Epoxy terrazzo is delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System — surveyed, designed and installed turnkey by POLYZEN. The aggregate blend, matrix and polished finish are specified to your project during survey.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
