OVERVIEW

What is PU Screed Flooring?

PU screed flooring is a trowel-applied polyurethane-cement screed laid not just as a flat floor but shaped to the geometry a process area needs — graded to falls so water and effluent run to drains, formed into integral coving at wall junctions, and built to varying thickness profiles. It delivers a seamless, hygienic, heavy-duty surface engineered for wet-process and wash-down environments.

How the System Is Built

A PU screed floor is an engineered stack shaped to the area — every layer has a job. Tap any layer to see its role.

Coving & Drainage Detailing

Falls · Upstands · Drains

The screed is finished with integral coving at wall and plinth junctions, graded falls toward gullies and channels, and sealed detailing around drains and equipment bases. These details eliminate dirt traps and direct wash-water cleanly to drainage. System values: Per TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PU screed flooring?
It is a trowel-applied polyurethane-cement screed laid to the shape a process area needs — graded to falls for drainage, formed into integral coving at junctions, and built to varying thickness profiles. The result is a seamless, hygienic, heavy-duty wet-process floor.
What does "laid to falls" mean?
It means the screed is graded with a controlled slope so that water, effluent and wash-down liquids run toward drains and channels rather than pooling. POLYZEN builds these falls into the screed thickness during application.
Does PU screed include coving?
Yes. Integral coving is formed at wall, plinth and equipment junctions as part of the screed, giving a seamless, crevice-free transition that is easy to clean and meets hygiene requirements.
What surface does it need?
A sound concrete substrate, mechanically prepared by diamond grinding or shot-blasting, with verified moisture, strength and existing falls. POLYZEN surveys and prepares the substrate as part of the turnkey installation.
Where is PU screed flooring used?
It suits food and beverage, dairy, breweries and beverage, commercial kitchens, abattoirs and meat processing, and chemical or wet-process areas that need drainage falls, coving and a heavy-duty hygienic finish.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
