OVERVIEW

What is Anti-Skid Epoxy Flooring?

Anti-skid epoxy flooring is a textured, slip-resistant resin system in which graded aggregate is built into the surface to create grip underfoot. Engineered for wet, greasy, sloped or high-traffic areas, it combines the seamless durability of epoxy with a tunable non-slip texture that protects workers and meets workplace safety requirements.

How the System Is Built

An anti-skid epoxy floor is an engineered stack — every layer has a job. Tap any layer to see its role.

Aggregate-Broadcast Anti-Skid Topcoat

Textured Grip Finish

Graded aggregate — silica or aluminium oxide — is broadcast into the wet coat and locked in with a sealing topcoat, creating the slip-resistant texture. The grit grade is tuned to the required slip rating and cleaning regime. System values: Per TDS.

SAFETY REFERENCE

Engineered for Slip Safety

An anti-skid floor is specified to a target slip rating for its environment — the wetter or steeper the area, the coarser the texture. POLYZEN tests against recognised methods; product-specific results are confirmed in the TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is anti-skid epoxy flooring?
It is a textured, slip-resistant epoxy floor where graded aggregate is built into the surface to create grip. It is used in wet, greasy, sloped or high-traffic areas to protect workers and meet workplace safety requirements.
How is the slip resistance created?
Graded aggregate, such as silica or aluminium oxide, is broadcast into the wet coat and sealed in with a topcoat. The grit grade is tuned to the required slip rating and the cleaning regime of the area.
Can the texture be adjusted?
Yes. The aggregate grade is selected to balance grip and cleanability — a coarser texture for wet or sloped zones, a finer one where easy cleaning matters more. The specification is matched to each area.
What surface does it need?
A sound concrete substrate, mechanically prepared by diamond grinding or shot-blasting, with verified moisture and strength. POLYZEN surveys and prepares the substrate as part of the turnkey installation.
Where is anti-skid epoxy flooring used?
It suits food and beverage wet areas, ramps and loading bays, commercial kitchens, chemical processing, cold storage and car park ramps — anywhere underfoot grip and safety matter.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
