OVERVIEW

What is PU Concrete Flooring?

PU concrete flooring — also called polyurethane screed or PU cement screed — is a heavy-duty, trowel-applied resin floor that combines polyurethane chemistry with cementitious fillers. The result is a thick, monolithic surface that withstands severe thermal shock, heavy mechanical loading and aggressive wash-downs, making it the standard for demanding food, beverage and heavy industrial environments.

PU Seal Coat

Optional Hygienic Finish

An optional polyurethane seal can be applied over the screed to refine the surface texture, reinforce chemical resistance and deliver an easy-clean finish. Slip rating and texture are specified to suit the environment. System values: Per TDS.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PU concrete flooring?
It is a heavy-duty, trowel-applied polyurethane-cement screed that forms a thick, monolithic floor. It combines polyurethane chemistry with cementitious fillers to withstand severe thermal shock, heavy mechanical loading and aggressive wash-downs.
How is PU concrete different from PU self-leveling flooring?
PU self-leveling is a thinner, poured, self-smoothing floor for moderate-duty hygienic areas. PU concrete is a thicker, trowel-applied heavy screed for the most demanding thermal and mechanical conditions — heavy forklift traffic, impact, and extreme temperature cycling.
Can PU concrete flooring handle thermal shock and steam?
Yes. This is its core strength. The polyurethane-cement screed tolerates rapid temperature changes — from sub-zero cold rooms to boiling spillage and steam cleaning — without cracking or debonding.
What surface does it need?
A sound concrete substrate, mechanically prepared by diamond grinding or shot-blasting, with verified moisture and strength. POLYZEN surveys and prepares the substrate as part of the turnkey installation.
Where is PU concrete flooring used?
It suits food and beverage, dairy and cold storage, breweries and beverage processing, heavy industrial, commercial kitchens and chemical processing — anywhere needing the toughest hygienic, thermal-shock-resistant floor.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope and substrate condition.
