OVERVIEW

What is ZENGRIT?

ZENGRIT is washed, kiln-dried and screen-graded natural silica quartz, supplied for broadcasting into wet resin. It is the aggregate that gives a POLYZEN broadcast floor its anti-skid profile, its wear surface and the mechanical key between coats. Quartz is chosen over softer fillers for a wearing surface because of its hardness: Mohs 7 against 3 for calcium carbonate and 1 for talc. It is also unaffected by dilute acids.

• Washed and kiln-dried • Screen-graded • Mohs 7 hardness • Dilute-acid resistant

THE TWO GRADES

Grip or Build — Which Grade

GradeGradingWhat It DoesWhere It Goes
ZENGRIT 120.6 – 1.2 mmAn even, close grip profile — enough bite for traction under braking and steering, without the coarseness that makes a deck loud and hard to clean. The grade where profile matters more than build.ZENDECK Park ZK-100 at 2 mm · ZENDECK Grip ZK-300 ramps · anti-skid profile on existing resin floors · mechanical key between coats · wet-area and process floors
ZENGRIT 251.2 – 2.5 mmThe thickness-building grade. The larger granule contributes real build to the section, so a 3 mm deck is reached economically, and the coarse profile stands up to heavy tyre traffic.ZENDECK Park ZK-100 at 3 mm · heavy tyre-traffic decks and aisles · thickness-building broadcast layers · key under heavy seal coats · high-wear transitions and aprons

SUPPLY

Ordered by the Bag

25 kg bag — not a kit

ZENGRIT is not part of a pre-measured kit. It is ordered by the bag, and the quantity depends on the build-up and how much profile is to be retained. Broadcast quantities are confirmed on the System Data Sheet for the floor being laid.

The Full Build-Up

ZENGRIT is broadcast into the wet wearing coat. A complete POLYZEN floor is built from a primer, an optional levelling underlay, the wearing coat and — where an anti-skid or decorative profile is required — a broadcast aggregate.
