OVERVIEW

What is Terrace Waterproofing?

Terrace waterproofing is a seamless, liquid-applied membrane system that seals an exposed roof or terrace deck against rainwater, dampness and seepage. A reinforced, crack-bridging elastomeric membrane is built up over a primed, correctly sloped substrate and protected by a wearing course, forming one continuous, jointless film. With no overlaps or seams for water to find, it stops the slow leaks, ceiling stains and structural damage that originate on the terrace above — and is engineered to flex with the thermal movement an exposed roof experiences daily.

THE POLYZEN SYSTEM

How the System Is Built

A terrace membrane is built up coat-by-coat over a sound, sloped deck, reinforced where leaks usually begin. Tap any layer to see its role.

Protective Wearing Course

UV & Traffic Shield

Over the cured membrane a protective screed or UV-stable top coat is applied to shield the waterproofing from foot traffic, thermal shock and sunlight — extending the service life of an exposed terrace. System values: Per TDS.

POLYZEN APPLIED SYSTEM

Engineered & Installed by POLYZEN

Terrace waterproofing is delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System — surveyed, designed and installed turnkey by POLYZEN's trained applicators, with membrane type, reinforcement and protective course specified to your roof's condition and exposure.

04
WHY IT WORKS

Built to Stay Watertight

A terrace is the most weather-exposed surface of a building — baked by sun, soaked by rain and constantly expanding and contracting. POLYZEN's membrane system is engineered for exactly those conditions. Performance is confirmed on the project specification.

POLYZEN Values
Per Project Specification

Membrane type, dry-film thickness and protective course are specified per roof condition and exposure. POLYZEN confirms finished values on the project specification and does not publish fabricated figures.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is terrace waterproofing?
It is a seamless, liquid-applied membrane system that seals an exposed roof or terrace deck against rainwater and dampness. A reinforced, crack-bridging elastomeric membrane is built up over a primed, sloped substrate and protected by a wearing course, forming one continuous jointless film with no seams for water to penetrate.
Which waterproofing system is best for a terrace?
For exposed terraces, a liquid-applied elastomeric membrane (PU or acrylic based) is usually preferred because it is seamless, flexes with thermal movement and bridges hairline cracks. POLYZEN selects the exact membrane and protective course during survey, based on slope, exposure and existing finishes.
Do existing tiles need to be removed before waterproofing?
It depends on the condition of the deck. Where tiles are debonded, cracked or trapping water, removal and substrate repair give a far longer-lasting result. POLYZEN assesses this during the site survey and recommends the most durable approach for your terrace rather than a quick overlay.
How long does terrace waterproofing last?
Service life depends on the membrane system, dry-film thickness, the quality of substrate preparation and the protective course over it. A correctly prepared, reinforced and protected POLYZEN system is engineered for long-term performance, and is backed by a written warranty confirmed per project.
Is this a POLYZEN product?
Terrace waterproofing is delivered as a POLYZEN Applied System — surveyed, designed and installed turnkey by POLYZEN. Membrane type, reinforcement and protective course are specified to your roof during survey.
Does POLYZEN provide a warranty?
Yes. Every installation is flood/ponding tested and handed over with a final inspection and a written system warranty, with terms confirmed per project scope, substrate condition and exposure.
