OVERVIEW

Flooring for Defence Establishments

Defence facilities demand the toughest floors in service. Vehicle workshops and MRO bays face fuel, oil and heavy tracked loads; ordnance stores and electronics workshops need controlled static; mess kitchens run industrial catering; and admin blocks carry daily traffic. POLYZEN engineers rugged, ESD-secure and chemical-resistant systems across the whole establishment — built to last and to keep working.

INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS

What a Defence-Facility Floor Must Deliver

Each requirement below maps to operational readiness, safety or asset security.

01

Rugged Durability

Floors that withstand heavy vehicles, tracked loads and continuous industrial use.

02

ESD Control

Static-secure ordnance stores, electronics and communications workshops.

03

Fuel & Chemical Resistance

Bays and stores that resist fuel, oil, solvents and process chemicals.

04

Impact Resistance

Surfaces that take dropped tools, equipment and heavy handling.

05

Slip Safety

Engineered grip for workshops, ramps, wash bays and wet areas.

06

Food-Safe Mess Kitchens

Thermal-shock, slip-safe systems supporting catering hygiene.

07

Demarcation & Wayfinding

Line marking for equipment lanes, safety zones and circulation.

08

Secure-Site Installation

Phased, disciplined work suited to restricted and operational facilities.

03
STANDARDS & COMPLIANCE

Engineered to Support Defence Standards

POLYZEN systems are specified to support the durability, ESD and safety frameworks defence facilities are assessed against.

TIER 1 · DEFENCE

Rugged / Heavy-Duty

Supports abrasion, impact and chemical resistance for workshops, bays and stores.

TIER 1 · ESD

IEC 61340-5-1

Supports static control in ordnance, electronics and communications areas.

TIER 1 · SAFETY

Fire & Safe Egress

Supports low-shedding surfaces and clear egress in occupied facilities.

TIER 2 · SAFETY

Slip Resistance

Supports worker safety in workshops, wash bays and wet zones.

TIER 3 · BUILDING

NBC / MES-Aligned

Supports defence-establishment construction frameworks with durable, compliant surfaces.

Material performance values are stated Per TDS. POLYZEN supplies and applies flooring systems engineered to support defence durability, ESD and safety frameworks; certification and acceptance of the facility remain with the authority.

FAQ

Defence Flooring — FAQ

What is the best flooring for defence and military facilities?
It depends on the zone. Vehicle workshops and MRO bays use heavy-duty chemical-resistant epoxy (ZENFLOR Sovereign); ordnance and electronics use ESD systems (ZENSTAT); admin blocks use seamless self-leveling epoxy (ZENFLOR Pro). POLYZEN specifies zone-by-zone.
What flooring is used for armouries and ordnance stores?
Grounded conductive flooring (ZENSTAT Conductive) is used in ordnance stores and fuel-handling zones to control and dissipate static charge to earth, engineered to support IEC 61340-5-1. Resistance values are stated Per TDS.
Does the flooring suit electronics and communications workshops?
Yes. Static-dissipative flooring (ZENSTAT Dissipative) protects sensitive electronics and communications equipment from electrostatic discharge while remaining durable and easy to clean.
Can the flooring resist fuel, oil and chemicals in vehicle bays?
Yes. Vehicle workshops and MRO bays use heavy-duty chemical-resistant epoxy formulated to resist fuel, oil, solvents and impact from heavy handling. The full resistance profile is stated Per TDS.
What flooring is used for military mess kitchens?
Mess and catering kitchens use food-grade PU concrete (ZENPU Cretescreed) that resists thermal shock, organic acids and fats while supporting FSSAI and HACCP hygiene.
Can work be done in secure or restricted facilities?
Yes. Work is planned and phased to suit restricted and operational sites, with disciplined sequencing, documentation and curing windows arranged around facility access.
